Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s Europa League clash with English side Tottenham Hotspur, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk said he is yet to decide if Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will play any role in the fixture.
“We will make a decision about him and our other players. We will clarify this in the last training. Our main idea this season was a four-man defense. Galatasaray tried to play its own game against every team in every match. We will try to play our own game again”, he said.
Victor Osimhen who missed training for a couple of days last week due to a minor injury participated in Tuesday’s training session to put himself back into contention for tonight’s Europa League fixture.
“We used different systems in the last two matches, but our main game was always based on a four-man defense. Our first priority was a four-man defense”, he continued.
“We change this from time to time depending on the player and opponent structure. Osimhen went to training yesterday.”
Osimhen who is already a fan favorite has enjoyed a decent start to life with the Turkish giants with 4 goals and 4 assists in 7 games in all competitions this season. Recall that Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Italian side Napoli on a season-long loan deal after a transfer deadline day move to English big spenders Chelsea FC failed to materialize.
If fit, he will be expected to lead the line against the English side alongside Argentine forward Mauro Icardi.
