Liverpool star Mohamed Salah talks up Reds’ Premier League chances

Mohamed Salah says Liverpool stands a good chance of winning the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles.

Despite playing under a new manager, the Reds have been in blistering form which has seen them go on a run of 12 games without defeat.

Their recent outing saw them dismantle Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 – a result that saw them lead the Champions League log.

And the Egypt international says the Anfield giants disclosed that the club have what it take to win both titles this season.

“I’m always saying a club like Liverpool, the fans, they deserve to be always fighting for the title,” Salah told Liverpool website.

“I think we have a good chance to win the Premier League and Champions League – at least to fight for it until the last minute.

“So, I think a club [like] Liverpool, the city, the fans, the players that we have, [the] coach, we just need to keep fighting and hopefully we win something good and big in the end.”

Meanwhile Salah has been voted Liverpool’s Player of the Month beating Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch to claim the accolade for the second time in the 2024-25 campaign.

“It’s a great feeling when the team is flying and winning games – that’s the most important thing. I don’t think I’d be that happy if I’m playing well and the team [is] not winning,” he continued.

“But the most important thing is just to carry on like that and hopefully we keep winning games.”

When asked to pick his favourite moment from October, the former Chelsea man added: “I would say probably Chelsea when Curtis scored because I gave him a good cross and we practise that a lot in training.

“So, when you do it in a game, you feel great – especially [as] it was the second goal. I was happy for him and happy to give an assist and make the team win the game.”

Salah is expected to lead Liverpool frontline when they face Aston Villa in an English topflight fixture on Saturday.
