Arsenal’s forward Leandro Trossard has admitted that the Gunners need to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to defeat London rivals Chelsea. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side face the Blues in a Super Sunday Premier league fixture on the back of two consecutive defeats in which they have failed to score.
The Gunners most recently lost to Italian giants Inter Milan in the UEFA champions league and failed to score despite attempting twenty one shots with four on target and Trossard believes they have to be more ruthless to turn around their fortunes.
“Obviously we want to win more. I think we had a good game on Wednesday. We didn’t score and they scored a penalty. In general we are pushing to win games and score goals. It just needs to click and hopefully that will be on Sunday”, he said.
Arsenal have scored 17 goals in 10 league games this season with Trossard scoring twice in seven of those games and the Belgian international believes they need to make more of the chances being created.
“I think so. There was a similar path last year. People were doubting about scoring and after January we had a spell of five or six games where we were putting five past opponents. Every season you have a rough period and it’s down to us to get going again. The belief in the team is still really high. We have such great players and we can turn it around quickly”, he added.
Arsenal who will be boosted by the return of influential captain Martin Ødegaard from injury will look to secure maximum points in the ‘London derby’ to close the gap on their title rivals.
