Super Eagles attacker, Victor Osimhen, has revealed that Galatasaray’s victory against Samsunspor will boost players’ confidence ahead of their international duty.
The Nigerians were crucial for Galatasaray in their victory, scoring a brace to hand the Yellow-Reds the victory and stamping their lead at the top of the Süper Lig standings.
The former LOSC Lille forward reacted after the game, stressing that the victory would boost their spirits as they prepare to join their respective national teams.
“The victory was important. We will go to the national teams, it gave us self-confidence. When we return, we have the power to win every match. We got a very important victory. I am very happy at Galatasaray, the fans love me very much. I dedicate the victory to them.” he said after the game.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are slated to tackle Benin Republic and Rwanda for the final laps of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, and Osimhen, who could not play in the Libya doubleheader, has made a return to the team.
As he chases Rashidi Yekini’s all-time goalscorer record, this is another opportunity for the Nigerian, who will be looking to display an impressive performance for Augustine Eguavoen’s troops.
