Bayern Munich star Harry Kane has hit at players who have withdrawn from England’s squad for the international break.
The international began after the last run of game across the top European leagues last weekend. But it will be without many stars, as a lot of players have pulled out.
This has come as players have been complaining about the congested fixture schedule, with some of them playing as much as three games in seven days. Also, club managers have been complaining about the effects of the fixture schedule and it’s negative effects on their players.
The Three Lions of England have been one of the worst hit, as nine of their best stars have pulled out of their upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Greece and Ireland. Top players like Aaron Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden have all pulled out even without injuries.
However, England skipper Kane, has not been impressed with this trend and has spoken up about the issue.
“I think we are in a complicated period of the season and some players have taken the opportunity to rest. I don’t like it too much to be honest. For me, England comes first, including the clubs. This is the most important thing for a professional player,” Kane said, per Sky Sports.
In the absence of these their stars, coach Lee Carlsley has invited some new players to the squad, with Jarell Quansah, Morgan Rogers, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Lewis Hall among the new invitees.
Despite their absentees, England are still favourites to claim wins in their two games.
