Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has named the teams he believes will be the strongest contenders at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Following Nigeria’s qualification for the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Benin, Boniface expressed his satisfaction with the Super Eagles’ progress.
Although he only featured in the final 18 minutes of the match, the Bayer Leverkusen striker praised the team’s efforts in securing the top spot in their group.
With one game remaining against Rwanda, Boniface revealed the importance of maintaining their dominance but shifted focus to the broader competition.
In an interview with Football Fans Tribe, he identified Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Mali as teams to watch in the upcoming AFCON.
“There’s a lot of good teams,” Boniface remarked. “Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Mali are really strong. But when it comes to African football, you cannot underestimate any team. Everyone is good, so we’re looking forward to it.”
Off the pitch, Boniface recently opened up about surviving a terrifying car accident in Germany. The incident occurred on October 20 when he was en route to pick up a friend from the airport. While the vehicle was severely damaged, Boniface escaped with minor injuries, including a scar on his forehead.
“It was a scary experience. I woke up to find the car spinning, but thankfully, we only had minor injuries. The most important thing is life,” he shared.
Boniface remains optimistic about the Super Eagles’ chances in Morocco next year while acknowledging the strength of their competition.
