Former Italian Serie A champions Juventus are plotting a surprise bid for Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile.
Chelsea have one of the biggest squads among the top five leagues in Europe, and that is due to the new transfer policy employed by Todd Boehly after taking over three years ago.
However, some of the players who have joined the Blues have failed to live up to their potential. French defender Badiashile is one of those players. He has failed to make an impression since joining the club from Monaco.
This season, he has made just one appearance in the Premier League. He has featured more prominently in the UEFA Conference League, with five appearances so far.
Nonetheless, despite his struggles at Stamford Bridge, Badiashile has attracted interest from abroad. According to Transfer News Live, former Serie A champions Juventus are looking to sign the 23-year-old center back from Chelsea.
Despite his lack of game time, Badiashile can still command as much as €40 million, and that might be an affordable fee for Juventus at the moment
The Old Lady have had a decent start to the league campaign under the tutelage of new coach Thiago Motta. They currently sit 6th in the Serie A, with 24 points after 12 games.
They have conceded just seven goals, the fewest in Serie A this season. Juventus will be looking to bring in more attacking and defensive reinforcements as they challenge other top clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Napoli for the Scudetto.
