Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has put an end to speculation regarding Victor Osimhen’s immediate future, confirming that the Nigerian forward will stay with the Turkish champions until the end of the season despite interest from other clubs.
On loan from Serie A giants Napoli, Osimhen has been the subject of transfer rumours, particularly linking him with Manchester United ahead of the winter transfer window.
The 25-year-old reportedly has a clause in his loan deal permitting a January move, but Buruk revealed that Osimhen is firm in his decision to remain in Istanbul.
“Victor has been clear from the start—he wants to stay here until the end of the season, the player has decided” Buruk told NTV. “There’s a clause, but it doesn’t matter because the player himself has decided. He’s committed to this club, and his focus hasn’t wavered.”
Osimhen’s impact at Galatasaray has been profound, with eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances across all competitions. His consistency has cemented his role as a fan favourite and heightened expectations for the remainder of the season.
With Galatasaray eyeing domestic success and a strong showing in Europe, Osimhen’s decision to stay could prove pivotal. For now, both player and manager remain united in their ambitions, shutting the door on any mid-season departure.
