Revealed: Real Madrid star Vinicius Jnr has ancestral roots from African football powerhouse

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been found to have originated from Cameroon following a DNA test result that was taken on Tuesday.

The world as we know it is a small place, and many years ago, due to slave trading, migration and exploration, many blacks traveled or got displaced from their original place of birth.

For example, the French national team is made up of many black players. This is due to the migration of many Africans to that part of Europe via the Mediterranean sea.

Aside from France, many other countries in Europe, South America, and Asia have a significant number of black players.

Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior is one of the black players in the Brazilian national team. And in an interesting development on Monday, a DNA test was conducted on him to determine his ancestry. It was eventually discovered that the 24-year-old winger originally hails from Cameroon. The Real Madrid star’s ancestors were from the Tikar ethnic group, who are known to be great artists, artisans and storytellers.

Vinicius Junior was presented a certificate of ancestry on Monday, just before Brazil’s game against Uruguay, which ended 1-1.

Cameroon is one of the best footballing nations on the African continent. The Central African country has produced top football talents like Samuel Eto’o, Roger Milla, and Rigobert Song. They have won the Africa Cup of Nations five times, only behind North African giants Egypt.

Vinicius is currently having a decent campaign with Real Madrid. He has produced eight goals and four assists in La Liga. His Real Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappe also has Cameroonian roots.
