England International Morgan Rogers has extended his stay at Aston Villa after signing a new contract that keeps him at the club until 2030.
The attacking midfielder is an integral part of Unai Emery’s side and has committed his future to the Midlands club.
Rogers joined Aston Villa in January 2024 from EFL Championship side Middlesbrough in a deal worth about £8 million.
His telepathic communication with fellow Englishman Ollie Watkins ensure Villa finished fourth in the English Premier League last season and secured qualification for this season’s UEFA Champions League.
The 22-year old has three goals and three assists in 15 appearances in all competitions this season and has started in three of Aston Villa’s Champions league matches including the famous 1-0 victory over German side Bayern Munich.
His impressive form ensured he was called up to the National team for the first time for the November international break and he made his debut in England’s 3-0 victory over Greece coming on for Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon in the 66th minute. He was also involved in the 5-0 mauling of the Republic of Ireland.
His sheer strength and ability to run with the ball are characteristics of his game and he ranks highly among Premier League players when it comes to moving the ball forward for great distances. He ranks fourth for average distance carries and eleventh in take-ons attempted among Premier League players this season.
Rogers will be hoping to continue his impressive start to the season when Aston villa host Crystal Palace this weekend.
