The England international has emerged as a target for the Red devils as his versatility is seen as a great tool under new head coach Ruben Amorim.
The 24-year old midfielder who left Manchester United in the summer of 2020 is reportedly close to a return to his boyhood team.
Angel Gomes made his debut for Manchester United as a 16-year old under former manager Jose Mourinho. The midfielder was part of the U-23 squad that conquered Europe under Lee Carsley in 2023 and it was no surprise he was called up to the England squad during the September international break following his impressive performances. He made his debut and was one of the few players who caught the eyes of viewer in both of England’s matches.
He has made over 100 appearances for Lille and his performances in France has caught tthe attention of Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim who is interested in bringing back the midfielder.
Lille are resigned to losing the midfielder for free after he has failed to agree a contract renewal with the club.
Gomes is seen as a replacement for Red devils Brazilian midfielder Casemiro due to his strength and passing abilities and he has recently expressed his interest in rejoining the club if they present an admirable offer.
