Bayelsa United manager Ladan Bosso has called for more time to improve the team’s fortunes after their slow start to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.
Bosso, who took over the reins after his stint with Nigeria’s U-20 Flying Eagles, remains optimistic despite facing an ultimatum from the club’s management.
In a post-match interview, Bosso expressed gratitude for the support of the Bayelsa State Sports Commissioner but was surprised by his unexpected presence during the second half of their recent match.
“We will continue to do our best for the team. Before and after the match, the commissioner called and encouraged me, but I was surprised to see him during the second half,” Bosso revealed.
The coach spotlighted the youthful nature of the squad as both a challenge and an opportunity, referencing their recent victory over Rivers United as a sign of potential.
“This is a team with youthful players, and that really helped us in the win over Rivers United. Bayelsa United is a work in progress, and we will continue to work to get things right,” he added.
Currently languishing near the bottom of the NPFL table, Bayelsa United’s struggles have sparked concerns among club fans and management.
However, Bosso has urged supporters to exercise patience, guaranteeing them that progress is being made to steer the team in the right direction.
The coming weeks will be crucial for Bosso and Bayelsa United as they strive to climb the league standings and meet the expectations of their management and supporters.
