Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has slammed his players after they dropped points in a second consecutive match as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo.
Barcelona had taken the lead through the in-form Raphinha and got a deserved second through Poland striker Robert Lewandowski who took his season’s tally to 15 goals in the league and 20 in all competitions this season.
The Catalan side then had Marc Casado sent off for a second bookable offence before conceding two late goals that ensured that their opponents got a point in the match.
“Not just the final 10 minutes. I didn’t like the whole performance,” Flick added. “We made too many mistakes. We did not control the ball. We must return to our level”.
Barcelona were without teenage sensation Lamine Yamal for a second consecutive game. They started brightly but lapses in concentration at the back prevented them from getting a victory and the German coach said his team played very bad.
“No control, no confidence with the ball. We made it very easy,” he also explained.
Barcelona’s lead at the top of the Spanish Laliga could be reduced to just a point if rivals Real Madrid win both of their games in hand.
“Let’s be honest—it was a poor game. We don’t usually play like this, and we need to talk about it.”
Barcelona will have a chance to redeem themselves when the host French outfit Brest in a UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday.
