“This time won’t be any different”- Neymar’s father backs Brazilian star to make strong comeback

Neymar’s father Neymar Santos Sr., has backed his son to make a strong comeback despite the injuries that have plagued him over the past two years.

Neymar has had persistent injury issues for most of his career, especially after he joined PSG in 2017. The Brazilian forward developed a penchant for getting injured at the turn of the year before returning two or three months before the end of the season.

During his time at PSG, Neymar missed over 136 games for club and country due to injuries. It was because of his constant injuries that PSG let him leave for Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal last year.

Unfortunately for the Brazil star, his situation has not gotten any better. Neymar suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his first few games for Al Hilal. And upon his return last month, he suffered a hamstring injury.

Due to his injury problems, there have been talks that Al Hilal want to sell the Brazilian star to a club in the Brazilian top-flight.

However, Neymar’s father, Santos Sr., has maintained that his son will soon recover and start delivering the goods for Al Hilal consistently.

“We see the speculation. I know the market is waiting to see how Neymar will come back. But he always comes back better than he was. This time won’t be any different”, Santos Sr. told RoundCast, per Fabrizio Romano.

Neymar is expected to return from his hamstring injury in mid-December. He has to start fit, because his contract expires in June 2025.
