Injury-hit Real Madrid get massive boost ahead of Getafe Clash

Real Madrid have been handed an injury-boost as Brazilian forward Rodrygo is set to return from an injury lay-off that has kept him out of action since early November.

The 23-year old was substituted in the first half of Real Madrid’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna in a Spanish Laliga match on November 9. He has missed Real Madrid last two games in the league and was unavailable for Brazil in the November international break.

The forward trained with teammates ahead of Sunday afternoon clash with 15th-placed Getafe and Carlo Ancelotti confirmed he will take part in the important match at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“On Sunday Rodrygo will be back. Next game Tchouameni will be back, soon Vinicius will be back, soon Alaba will be back”, Ancelotti said when asked about his players in the press conference.

“In many years of my career, only one year has been quite easy: last year. All the other years I have had to solve problems. Sooner or later, the problems come”, he added.

Rodrygo has appeared fifteen times for Real Madrid in all competitions this season and has scored three times while providing two assists.

His return is a timely boost for Carlo Ancelotti’s injury-plagued squad who have key players like Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouameni, Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga all unavailable for selection due to injuries.

The Brazilian will hope to be fit enough to start as Real Madrid look to cut the gap to league leaders Barcelona to a point although they still have a game in hand.
