Real Sociedad striker Umar Sadiq has refused to be drawn into discussions about a potential move away from the club as speculation intensifies ahead of the winter transfer window.
Sadiq, who joined the La Liga side from Almeria in 2022, has endured a challenging spell at the Reale Arena. A cruciate ligament injury derailed his start at Sociedad, sidelining him after just two appearances.
Since returning to action at the beginning of last season, the 27-year-old has struggled to secure a consistent starting role, contributing four goals in 35 league outings.
With the January transfer window approaching, rumours linking the Nigeria international to other clubs have gained momentum. However, the forward chose not to disclose any plans about his future.
“I don’t know. Let’s see what will happen in the future,” Sadiq said in an interview with Tribal Football.
There has also been talk of a potential return to his former club, Almeria, where he enjoyed a prolific spell before his move to Real Sociedad. Addressing these links,
Sadiq remarked, “With Almeria, it’s always a pleasure. We never know what the future comes with.”
The forward was called up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final qualifying rounds against Benin and Rwanda and could only secured 2 minutes in total.
