Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has returned to team training on Friday in a major injury boost for the Los Blancos.
The 24-year old has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in the aftermath of the 3-0 victory over Leganes on the 24th of November after he played the whole 90 minutes in the game.
He was initially diagnosed to be out of action for about three weeks with his return date set for the intercontinental cup in December, but he has recovered quickly to join his teammates in training.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side won only one out of the three matches played in his absence. They lost 2-0 to leaders Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League before defeating Getafe 2-0 in the Spanish Laliga.
They were recently beaten 2-1 away at Basque side Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night conceding a late goal from Gorka Guruzeta after a mistake in defence by Federico Valverde.
Vinicius Junior has scored twelve goals and provided eight assists in eighteen appearances in all competitions this season and his return to training is a massive boost for Real Madrid who hope to reduce the deficit between them and Laliga leaders Barcelona.
The current Laliga and Champions League winners have been hit with about 24 injuries this season to players with the likes of Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga all out of action for considerable amount of time.
Vinicius Junior will hope he is fit enough to stake a place in the team that plays away at Girona in a Spanish Laliga game on Saturday night.
