Galatasaray are gearing up for an audacious bid to make Victor Osimhen’s temporary stay permanent, as the Nigerian striker continues to shine in Turkey.
Since arriving on loan from Napoli last summer, Osimhen has become a key figure for the Lions, delivering nine goals and five assists in just 12 appearances, according to Transfermarkt. His performances have sparked widespread admiration, making him the club’s top scorer and a fan favourite.
The Turkish champions, however, face a tough road ahead. Napoli, who excluded Osimhen from their 2024/25 plans, have set an uncompromising release clause for their prized asset, leaving little room for negotiation.
Despite these hurdles, Galatasaray’s leadership is confident. Sources reveal that manager Okan Buruk believes the club has the resources to complete the transfer if Osimhen signals his intent to stay. “If Osimhen decides in May that he doesn’t want to return to Napoli, we have the financial capability to sign him,” Buruk reportedly told insider Burhan Can Terzi during a discussion on Sportcell.
The Lions’ financial strategy includes recent sales from the Leo Residence project and a planned capital increase expected to generate €100 million, providing the backing needed for such a high-profile acquisition.
Still, competition looms large. Clubs from England, France, and Italy are circling, eager to lure the Super Eagles forward. Despite this, Osimhen has reportedly reassured Galatasaray that he will honour his loan deal until the summer, even though a January break clause could allow Napoli to recall him.
