“I don’t want Cristiano Ronaldo”- Jose Mourinho reveals Fenerbahce’s stance amid links with Portuguese superstar

Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho has confirmed that the club is not interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo despite recent speculations about a possible transfer.

There have been recent rumors linking 39-year-old Portuguese superstar Ronaldo with a transfer to Fenerbahce. Recall that the former Real Madrid man is currently the highest-paid football player, as he currently makes €200 million per year at Al Nassr. But with his contract set to expire in January 2025, there have been talks that Ronaldo could move to Fenerbahce.

It was believed that Mourinho would use his influence to lure Ronaldo to Turkey, as both of them worked together at Real Madrid, and are also from Portugal.

However, Mourinho has come out to put those talks to bed. The Portuguese tactician respects Ronaldo, but he insists that he already has enough strikers at Fenerbahce.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will not come to Fenerbahce. I’ve three good strikers and I don’t need another one. Cristiano will always be Cristiano, but I don’t want him because I’m satisfied with my strikers,” Mourinho said, per Fabrizio Romano.

With Ronaldo’s current pay in Saudi Arabia, it would be almost impossible for any Turkish club to sign him and not suffer the financial implications afterwards. Moreover, his presence in Saudi Arabia has made the league more relevant in the past two years. It is expected that they will try to extend his contract before it expires in 2025.
