Ancelotti foresees ‘significant improvement’ in 2025 after Rayo Vallecano stalemate

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has predicted that his side will be more improved in 2025 and has claimed their performance in the 3-3 draw against Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish Laliga on Saturday was better compared to previous outings.

The Champions League winners were held to an entertaining draw at the Estadio de Vallecas on Saturday night as goals from Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo could not secure maximum points.

“It was a complete game, which also included many errors, but I thought we didn’t suffer as much as the final result would suggest”, the former Chelsea boss said.

“I was much more worried about those draws against Mallorca and Las Palmas. Now we have the attitude and commitment of last year and that is promising.”

A victory for Ancelotti’s side would have taken them to the top of the league overtaking leaders Barcelona who have also struggled in recent games.

“I look ahead, and I see a 2025 that is very positive, although I could be wrong. It’s very good, with the players showing a lot of desire and enthusiasm.”

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been hit with injuries to several players with the likes of Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal out for a considerable amount of time while other key members of the squad have suffered varying times on the sidelines.

Former Paris Saint Germain talisman, Kylian Mbappe has also struggled to adapt to Spanish football and the Italian manager believes the team will be much more improved next year when they have their injured players fit.

“We’re in the hunt for everything we’re playing for. We’re doing well, despite the many difficulties we’ve had due to injuries”, he continued.

“Today we started without a lot of first-team players, up to seven. When they all come back, the team will be much better.”

Real Madrid turn their attention to the re-introduced Intercontinental cup in Qatar when they play Mexican side Pachuca in the final on Wednesday.
