Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has given new life to ongoing rumours about Victor Osimhen’s future with the Neapolitans.
The former Watford FC captain, in a recent report, reveal the Nigerian striker’s deep admiration for Chelsea while discussing his leadership qualities on the field.
Troost-Ekong, speaking via a post shared by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, confirmed, “I can tell you that Victor Osimhen is a Chelsea fan. I can confirm it.”
Over this years Osimhen has piqued the interest of the Stamford Bridge outfit who have emerged a strong contender in securing the signature of the Nigeria international.
Ekong’s comments has amplified transfer speculations linking the Napoli-owned forward with a move to London, especially as Chelsea continue their hunt for a proven striker to revitalise their attack.
While addressing Osimhen’s qualities, Troost-Ekong praised the 25-year-old’s relentless drive in front of goal and his leadership off the pitch.
“In front of the goal, he can be very greedy, but he’s someone who speaks up for the team in the changing room. He’s a real leader, and I’m sure he’ll be captain soon,” he added.
Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen stems from their need to solve lingering attacking woes, and with the forward’s admiration for the club now public, all eyes will be on a potential blockbuster transfer move in 2025.
