Cesc Fabregas give insight into Dele Alli’s potential transfer to Como

Como coach Cesc Fabregas has confirmed that England international Dele Alli is training with his team and could sign him in January if they are impressed.

Former Tottenham star Alli has experienced one of the most remarkable fall-offs in football. He burst into the scene in 2015 at Tottenham. At the time, he was one of the most exciting youngsters in the game. And his combination with Harry Kane proved to be quite lethal.

Alli enjoyed the next five season, playing top-level football. But he started to fall off in 2019. Injuries did not help his case too, as he was constantly struggling with hamstring injuries.

Due to his poor form, the 28-year-old was transferred to Everton in 2022. Unfortunately for him, his situation did not improve. He then went on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas, but he could not even get minutes.

The England international then returned to Everton, but he was relegated to just a peripheral role. Alli’s contract expired at the end of last season, and he has been without a club since then.

However he was recently seen at Como’s training ground, sparking rumours that he could join them in the summer.

Como boss Fabregas has now come out to reveal the current situation between both parties. The former Barcelona man has affirmed that Alli is training with the team, but he is uncertain that he will sign eventually.

“He’s (Alli) training with us now, Dele’s feeling good. He’s a wonderful player. If we can help him, we’re more than happy. At the moment, he’s only training with us,” Fabregas said.

Como just gained promotion to the Serie A, but they play one of the most exciting brands of football in the league. They currently sit 16th in the league. Alli will be hoping that he can impress enough and return to playing top-flight football.
