Ruben Amorim, the new head coach of Manchester United, has faced significant setbacks in his first few games. Despite his impressive track record at Sporting CP, where he led the club to their first title in 19 years, Amorim has yet to convince United fans that he’s the right man for the job.
The recent 2-0 defeat to Wolves at Molineux on Boxing Day was a tough pill to swallow. It was their third straight defeat and the fifth defeat from the ten games that Amorim has overseen as Manchester United coach.
Ahead of Manchester United’s next game against high-flying Newcastle United, Amorim has addressed the fans’ frustration. The former Sporting CP man has admitted that the clubs faithful might have to wait a little longer before they achieve any form of success
“The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, be comfortable.” He acknowledged that he knew taking on the role would be a significant challenge, stating, “When I took on this role at Man United, I knew I was taking on a significant amount of work.”
“If we are to deliver the long-term changes we want for Man United, we need to take it step by step,” he added.
As Amorim navigates this challenging period, he’ll be hoping that his fans can be considerate and that they’ll grant him the patience he needs to turn things around at Old Trafford.
The current squad needs an overhaul. If he gets the money to buy the players he wants in January, thing could change for the better.
