Nigeria defender Gabriel Osho chances of participating in Auxerre’s match against Lille in the French Ligue One is in doubt due to injury.
The 26-year old is a major doubt for the fixture which is scheduled to take place on Friday, after being declared unfit and unable to participate. He was first confirmed to have suffered an injury to his knee after a 1-0 loss to lower division side Dunkerque in the Coupe de France last month.
The injury also kept him out of Auxerre’s first league game of the season, as they were convincingly beaten by Strasbourg, who moved to within a point of them in tenth.
The Nigerian international joined the French club in the summer on an initial one-year deal, with the option of another two from English side Luton Town, who had just been relegated to the Championship after a season in the English Premier League.
He made his debut for the Super Eagles in November, and has been a marshal in defence this season for his club side as they sit ninth on the Ligue One standings.
He has featured 13 times this season in all competitions including 12 starts in the league, and scored his only goal of the season with a brilliant header in the 2-2 draw against Lens on Matchday 15.
He was unable to participate in training ahead of Friday’s match and his absence is a major blow to his side, who will hope to have him back in the side as soon as possible.
