Arne Slot reveals stance on Liverpool’s rumoured interest in Serie A attacker

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has dismissed rumours linking the Reds with a potential move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the ongoing January transfer window.

Napoli are reportedly open to offers for the winger, who has attracted significant interest from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and is rumored to be part of a potential swap deal involving Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The unexpected availability of the Georgia international has sparked fresh reports linking both Liverpool and Chelsea. While neither club is currently prioritizing a winger, the chance to secure a long-term target is one they may find hard to overlook.

According to reports, Napoli are interested in Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa as a possible replacement for Kvaratskhelia. Speculation suggests the Italian winger could be included in a swap deal, with Darwin Núñez also mentioned as a potential makeweight in the negotiations.

However, Liverpool boss Slot all but poured cold water on any budding excitements, with the Dutchman flat out dismissing all the talk as rumours.

“What I make of that is that it’s January,” Slot responded to a question about Kvaratskhelia.

“I think I said after the West Ham game not to disappoint me, please come up with all these clubs and all these players that have interest from us or the ones that don’t play a lot for us to go somewhere else. That is what’s happening now.

“Nine out of ten times, 99 out of 100 times, at the end of the window it’s clear that almost all of these stories weren’t true. So what can I comment about it? The rumours keep going for it, but no comments from our side.”
