Recent reports suggest that negotiations involving Barcelona sensation Pedri and the club are in the later stages, with the 22-year old looking to extend his contract in the coming months.
Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, in his recent post, affirmed that Pedri’s contract renewal with Barcelona will ‘surely’ happen in the coming months. Given Pedri’s importance in the side, it appears that the Catalan club are eager to tie him down to a new contract, possibly until 2030, given that his current one expires in 2026.
This update comes after the Spanish midfielder himself confirmed earlier this week that talks between his agents and the club were progressing in a very positive manner.
“What my agents and the club tell me is that everything is going well. It’s not a good time to talk about renewals the day before a final. I’m more focused on the final than on my renewal,” he said on the eve of the Super Cup final.
Pedri has featured in each of Barcelona’s 27 matches across all competitions this season, scoring four goals and three assists.
Romano also mentioned the situation of Gavi and Lamine Yamal, stating they are also in line for contract extensions. The deals for all three players are expected to be finalised in the near future, with Barca have made it clear of their intentions to secure the futures of the club
