West Ham reportedly submitted a €30 million bid for Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán last week, but the club rejected the offer. The bid was deemed insufficient, falling short of the valuation required to secure the services of the Colombian international.
Despite recently signing a new contract with Villa, speculation about Durán’s future persists with PSG also keen on bringing him to the French capital, further fueling rumors about a potential move.
Aston Villa has reportedly set Duran’s price tag of at £60 million. This high valuation comes despite the striker’s limited playing time. Duran he has only started four Premier League games under head coach, Unai Emery, this season. Nevertheless, he has managed to make a strong impact, scoring seven goals during his appearances.
Despite the absence of consecutive playing time and the intense competition with Ollie Watkins, it appears that the 21-year-old striker is happy at the club. I’m just happy to be here. I actually love the competition I have going with Ollie Watkins. When it’s my turn, I will step up, and hopefully I can score and help the team.” he said.
While West Ham is yet to propose a much convincing offer for the 21-year old, it appears the Columbian striker remains focused on his term in the Villa park.
