Sevilla sporting director Victor Orta, has stated that the club could sanction the sale of Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho this winter, if the club receives an offer that matches their valuation.
The former Manchester City forward joined the Los Rojiblancos in the summer, after his contract at English side Leicester City was not renewed. His move to Seville has been very disappointing as he has found playing time hard to come by, and has failed to impress when give the opportunity to feature.
In nine Spanish Laliga appearances this season, he has not been able to contribute a goal. However, his most impressive outings for the club has been in the Copa Del Rey with three goals from two starts including a brace in the first round against Tercera division side Las Rozas.
His struggles have opened talks of a move away from the club, attracting interest from Premier League and Turkish sides and the Club’s sporting director has confirmed the club is open to letting him if a satisfactory offer comes in.
“The market is open. We have the obligation to study all the offers. There are three parts. The players also have their feelings about their future. With the market open, anything can happen with any name,” Orta said, per Diario de Sevilla.
The Super Eagles forward is also keen on leaving the club after just six months in a bid to reignite his career, and with Sevilla needing to make sales in order to make fresh signings, a move could be sanctioned for the 28-year old at the right price.
