Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has officially signed a contract extension with Manchester City which will see him remain at the club until 2034.
The Norwegian striker joined the Cityzens from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, and has become and integral part of the team, registering 111 goals and 15 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions.
However, there have been talks that he could leave the club that he could possibly leave for Real Madrid in a few years if he continues at his current trajectory.
Nonetheless, he has now committed the majority of his career to the reigning Premier League champions by signing a new contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium for almost a decade.
Halaand’s previous contract was due to expire in June 2027, but Manchester City shared a post on Friday, confirming that the 24-year old has put pen to paper on an agreement that covers ten seasons.
By the time the contract expires, the Norway international will be turning 34 years old — and any release clauses which would see him leave the club before it ends has been removed.
The prolific forward has played a big role in Manchester City’s most successful period, as he has lifted two English Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League and a Super Cup.
It is yet to be seen how the next nine years will span one, but one thing is clear, the City project will be built around Haaland.
