European Champions Real Madrid, have suffered another injury blow with France international Eduardo Camavinga out of action for a while due to injury.
The 22-year old was confirmed to have suffered a hamstring injury to his left leg, in the aftermath of the 5-2 victory over Celta Vigo in the Copa Del Rey last 16 on Thursday. The former Rennes midfielder came off in the 70th minute of the Copa Del Rey victory and was replaced by Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos.
In a statement released by the club, the versatile midfielder was confirmed to be out of action for a period of three weeks.
“After the tests conducted today on our player, Eduardo Camavinga was diagnosed by Real Madrid’s medical services with a muscular injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his left leg”, the club said.
The recent injury is a huge blow to the Los Blancos, in what is a crucial period in the season and adds to the long list of injury lay-off with Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao still ruled out for long-term.
Camavinga’s season has been hampered with injury, with this being his third time of action for the season since his return to action in November.
The news is a major blow to Carlo Ancelotti’s side, as they look to defend their league and European crown. He is expected to miss up to six games, including the club’s last two UEFA Champions League games of the season.
