Reports suggesting that Trent Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer have been dismissed, with sources indicating no such deal is in place.
Spanish outlet Marca recently claimed that Real Madrid have “the player’s yes in their pocket” and are considering a move in January. However, Sky Sports’ Merseyside correspondent Vinny O’Connor refuted these claims, describing them as “wide of the mark” and affirming that no agreement exists between the player and the Spanish club.
Real Madrid had reportedly submitted a bid for Alexander-Arnold last month, valued at approximately £15 million, but Liverpool rejected the offer outright. However, the La Liga club remains keen on the Liverpool academy graduate and continues to monitor his situation as his current contract edges closer to its conclusion at the end of the 2024-25 season
Alexander-Arnold has remained silent amid growing speculation surrounding his future. Liverpool, however, are optimistic about committing the No. 66 on a new long-term deal reaffirming their commitment to keeping the player.
It remains to be seen whether the 26-year old will commit to an extension before his contract expires in the summer or make a move to the Spanish club before the transfer window closes this month.
