Real Madrid have been dealt with a late injury blow with defensive midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni set to miss the clash against Las Palmas this afternoon.
Real Madrid will host Las Palmas at the Bernabeu Stadium in their 20th La Liga fixture, which could see them leapfrog league rivals, Atlético Madrid to the top of the league standing.
However, it appears Tchouameni will not be a part of the squad in today’s encounter having suffered a discomfort in his left leg, as revealed on the club’s account on X.
The Frenchman played all 120 minutes of his side’s cup tie against Celta Vigo midweek, so it is unclear whether that discomfort stems from fatigue after such a mammoth clash.
This will be the second time the 24-year-old is being sidelined with injury this term, having suffered an ankle injury against AC Milan in the Champions League ruling him out of action for over a month.
The severity of Tchouaméni’s injury remains unknown with the club yet to release an official statement on the Frenchman’s situation. But in the meantime, Real Madrid head coach, Carlos Ancelloti will have to figure out what changes to make to their starting XI, before the clash against Las Palmas.
