Manchester City and AC Milan have reached an agreement regarding a loan move for England fullback Kyle Walker.
Following speculations linking the captain away from the club, Walker, 34, is set to arrive in Lombardy this Wednesday to secure his move to Sergio Conceição’s squad for his first playing experience abroad.
The defender who arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017 had earlier informed City’s manager Pep Guadiola of his intentions to leave the club in search of opportunities.
“Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad and end his career”, Pep Guardiola said in a post match interview following City’s 8-0 FA Cup win over Salford
Since his arrival in 2017, Walker has helped Manchester City win 17 trophies including one champions league title, an FA Cup, and five consecutive premier league titles.
As per reports by French outlet, L’Equipe AC Milan sent City an initial loan offer with achievable terms, which would see a purchase clause activated and Walker join the Serie A giants on a permanent basis.
Should there be no hiccup during his medicals on Wednesday, Kyle Walker will be a member of Sérgio Conceição’s squad this January.
