Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Reveals Stance on Manchester United Players After Besiktas Move

Former Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that he is not preparing a bid for either Marcus Rashford or Casemiro following his move as Bekista manager.

The Norwegian who had been out of sports management since leaving United in 2021, returned to professional football this past weekend when he was appointed the new manager of the Istanbul club.

But as the January transfer window heads to a close, the topic of transfer targets dominated Solskjaer’s first media obligations for Besiktas, with former players, Rashford and Casemiro among the mentions.

As per reports, Rashford announced in December that he would entertain the idea of a new chapter away from United meanwhile Casemiro has been linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia. While both of their futures are unclear, what does seem certain is that neither man is likely to end up with Solskjaer.

“I’ve come from Manchester United, so there will be transfer news like this,” the former Molde and Cardiff City manager explained. “Casemiro and Rashford are very good players, but I haven’t had any contact with them.

“I enjoyed my time at Manchester United. That chapter is closed.”

Solskjaer (51) will be looking to secure his first win in charge at the Turkish club who are currently sixth in the Super Lig, when they face Athletic Club in the Europa League this Thursday.
