Marseille are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in the ongoing transfer window.
As per reports by French outlet, L’Equipe, Marseille are the latest club to express an interest in the Englishman following speculations of interest from Paris Saint Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and FC Barcelona.
The 27-year old has had a nightmarish season since Ruben Amorim, arrival at Old Trafford, hunting his desire to leave the club after revealing that he is ‘ready for a new challenge’ away from Old Trafford last month.
When asked to provide an update on Rashford’s situation following United’s abysmal 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton, the United manager said:
“It is his choice [not to play],” the Red Devils boss told The Mirror. “I don’t want to focus on this bad moment because in the games we lost, Rashford is not here. I don’t want to put this moment on Rashford. Rashford is out at the moment because he is not playing. No matter what, I am not going to put out a player I don’t believe is the best for the team.”
Marseille believe Rashford would make a perfect replacement for Elye Wahi, who is on the verge of joining Eintracht Frankfurt this January.
An eventual move to France would see Rashford reunite with his ex-England and Manchester United team mate, Marcus Greenwood, who is clearly having a good season under manager Roberto De Zerbi scoring 12 goals and three assists across 18 league games.
