Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke has described his return to action as a good step back after returning from a long injury lay-off.
The Nigerian international returned to action last weekend in Sevilla’s 2-1 win over Girona in the Spanish Laliga, after being sidelined for about three months due to a hamstring injury suffered during a league match against Barcelona in October.
The Super Eagles star who was kept out of action for a period of twelve games, including nine league games and three Copa Del Rey matches, was excited on his return stating that he was raring to return to top form.
“I was happy to be able to go with the team because I hadn’t been in this routine for a long time.
So I was happy to have the opportunity to go with the team and even more excited to have come in in the final minutes to contribute a little to the team. I felt happy, you know, it’s like a good step back”, he said.
Ejuke was one of the most consistent performers for the former Europa League Champions before his injury, making nine appearances for the club in the league, and has pledged to continue working his way back to full fitness ahead of next weekend’s clash against Espanyol.
“I’m already, I think, obviously, because of how I was injured this time, for this period of time, obviously it will go little by little, but I feel good.
What I said, I’m excited to be back now. I hope everything goes game after game and we’ll see how it goes”, Ejuke continued.
