Bologna target January move for Super Eagles’ Serie A star

Italian Serie A side Bologna have reportedly set their sights on acquiring the services of Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan.

The UEFA Champions League debutants have identified the Nigerian as a suitable option upfront, and are interested in a move before the end of the January transfer window.

The Super Eagles winger joined AC Milan from Spanish Serie A side Villareal in the summer of 2023, and has failed to live up to his talents at the Italian giants. He has struggled to stake a spot in the team with the likes of Portuguese winger Rafael Leao, United States captain Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor preferred to him.

The 25-year old who is widely known for his trickery, pace and ability to beat opposition defenders, has only two goals and three assists in 41 appearances for the former Champions League winners, who are ready to move him on if a bid that matches their valuation comes in for the winger.

Bologna have emerged in recent days as forerunners for his signature despite interest from English giants Arsenal, and are prepared to offer a loan deal for the Nigerian before the end of the window.

With the Rossoneri also interested in Bologna’s forward Riccardo Orsolini, an agreement could be put in place between both sides which could see both players swap sides before the end of January.
