Brazil star, Neymar Jr is reportedly closer to sealing a return to his boyhood club Santos from Al-Hilal.
Neymar is set to return to his boyhood club in Brazil putting an end to an injury-plagued spell with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The 32-year old joined the Middle-Eastern side in the summer of 2023 but his stint at the club has been marred by injuries – especially a Anterior Cruciate ligament injury which kept him sidelined for a year – reducing his term to seven matches in a year and half.
However, as per Sky Sports, the former Barcelona man edges closer to finalizing a loan move to his former club which will see him remain in Brazil for the season.
Further reports suggest that the Brazilian agreed to a massive pay cut to seal his return to the club.
It appears Neymar is no longer a part of Jorge Jesus’s plans after the Al-Hilal manager revealed he will not be registered for the second half of the Saudi Pro League season: As such, a return to Santos this January is likely to go through sooner rather than later. Speaking to GOAL, the Portuguese manager said the 32-year-old can “no longer play at the level we are used to” and cast doubt on Neymar’s future at the club.
It is unclear whether remain at Santos beyond the second half of the 2024/25 season, but one thing is clear, his time at Al-Hilal has reached a close.
