Super Eagles legend Mutiu Adepoju is confident that the Nigerian National team will achieve success at the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Super Eagles were placed with former AFCON champions Tunisia in Group C of the competition, alongside the Cranes of Uganda and the Taifa Stars of Tanzania, as the draw for the event was held on Monday evening in Rabat, Morocco.
The showpiece event is scheduled to commence on the 21st of December 2025, with the final taking place on the 18th of January, 2026 and Adepoju who was part of the 1994 AFCON winning team for the Super Eagles, believes the team will achieve success in Morocco.
“Given the level of our players, their outing at the last AFCON where they came close to winning the trophy, and the good and great things they’re doing with their various clubs in Europe presently, I am confident that we have a team that can compete favorably and perhaps win the trophy for the fourth time in Morocco”, Adepoju stated.
The Super Eagles now led by former Mali head coach Eric Chelle, will commence their campaign against Tanzania, as they hope to go one better than the silver medal won at the 2023 edition, after missing out to Ivory Coast 2-1 in the final.
