Manchester United are reportedly close to finalizing a deal to sign Lecce defender, Patrick Dorgu.
Manchester United have tabled a €30million bid for the wing-back as reported by Sky Sports, with many aspects of the deal being agreed in principle.
Reports by the English outlet revealed that “positive talks (between both teams) continue over structure and make up of the deal” with Dorgu interested in making a move to Old Trafford.
Figures at United are hopeful that a deal will be agreed and if one is, Dorgu would become the first senior arrival at Old Trafford under head coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager has been keen to add reinforcements in the January window amid a run of form that has seen his side slip to just 10 points above the Premier League’s relegation zone.
The versatile Dorgu, who is left-footed, is capable of playing on either flank and has a profile compatible with Amorim’s preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
The 20-year-old, who has been capped four times by Denmark and has made 43 first-team appearances for Lecce, is also a major target for Napoli, with the club indicating “they were willing to leave him at Lecce on loan” but it appears Amorim’s side are leading the race for the Danish wing-back.
