Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown has claimed that Scottish league side Rangers are open to sanctioning a sale for Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers, if they receive a substantial offer.
The 30-year old has been linked with a move away from the Gers this transfer window with clubs from the Italian Serie A, Spanish Laliga and English Championship interested in his services.
Dessers has stated his desire to remain at the club beyond this month but Brown has revealed that the former Scottish league winners are open to a sale.
“It’s a difficult one with Dessers. When I hear Rangers fans talk about him, they say the thing about him is the amount of goals he misses.”, Brown said.
“When he scores, you look and think that’s what he’s capable of. But it’s about the number of goals he misses.”
The Super Eagles forward is currently second-choice at the club to Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane, and Brown believes the former Cremonese man has suffered from inconsistencies which cost him his starting berth.
“He came on as a sub against Man United when they’ve got all sorts of injury problems, because he’s lost his starting place in their team”, he continued.
“But if they got a reasonable bid for him, perhaps making a profit on what they paid, then I think they’ll sell him because the questions about him won’t seem to go away.”
