“It’s a difficult job”- Amorim reacts to recent struggles

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has attributed his poor start to life as head coach of the Red Devils to the difficult nature of the job.

The Portuguese manager joined the Red Devils in November, taking over from former manager Erik Ten Hag, but has seen his side struggle for consistency with just four wins in fourteen league matches.

“It shows that it’s a difficult job. We have to try to understand the history. This club had a figure that you cannot replace in Sir Alex Ferguson.

It’s a hard job to do it because everything was connected to one person.  When that person leaves, it’s really hard.”, Amorim reacted.

Manchester United currently occupy the 15th position on the English Premier League standings with 29 points from their opening 25 fixtures, and have won just once in their past four league outings.

“Make no mistake, I just want to win games, that is the point. Then I teach what I know. When I say I stick with my beliefs in the way I train, the way I see football and then transmit that to the players.”, he continued.

“There’s nothing I won’t adapt. We adapt, sometimes we have goal kicks with short plays and then in some games long balls because the opponent is pressing a lot.”

The Red Devils travel to Goodison Park on Saturday to face Everton in a must-win encounter , as they look to ease pressure on the former Sporting Lisbon manager.
