Spanish champions Real Madrid have been dealt another major injury blow with Spain international Dani Ceballos ruled out of action for two months.
The midfielder is expected to be out of action for a while with a hamstring injury after colliding with Real Sociedad forward Takefusa Kubo, in Wednesday’s 1-0 victory in the Copa Del Rey first leg at the Anoeta.
In a statement released on social media, Ceballos who has been a regular in the team in recent weeks due to injuries to other key players, expressed sadness over the injury and hopes to return swiftly to help the team.
“I’m very sad to not be able to help my team in this very important part of the season. And very sad for having to stop in what I felt was my best moment.
But football is like that, it is not always easy, and even less fair. So I have to face it with strength, with the desire to fight and with the certainty that I will come back even stronger. This is not over. I’ve come out of worse times… See you soon, sooner than you think”, the Spanish midfielder posted on social media.
The 28-year old joins a growing list of injury concerns for Los Blancos as they face a busy schedule with matches to come in the Spanish Laliga, UEFA Champions League and the Copa Del Rey.
