NPFL: Enyimba’s Chinedu Ufere rallies for fans support amid poor form

Enyimba midfielder Chinedu Ufere has appealed to fans of the club to rally behind the team as they look to return to their glory days.

The People’s Elephant have endured a disappointing season so far, suffering elimination in the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup, while poor form in the league has also kept them away from continental positions in 12th.

Speaking ahead of the Matchday 27 fixture against Niger Tornadoes in Lafia on Sunday, Ufere urged the supporters of the former African Champions to believe in the players as they look to return to their best form.

“I just want to say thank you to the fans for their support throughout this difficult period,” Ufere said.

“We promise to do what it takes to bring the club back to its glory days.”

Enyimba who currently occupy the 12th position on the NPFL standings having won just twice in their last nine league matches, will need to get a result on Sunday to keep alive their slim hopes of securing a continental ticket at the end of the season.

“For our match in Lafia against Niger Tornadoes, we are very determined and will go all out to ensure we return with points.

We want to bring joy back to our fans and restore the club’s glory”, he added.
