Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has expressed optimism about his side’s chances ahead of their weekend’s fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Super Eagles defender was one of the stars of the show when they Cottagers pulled off a shock win over Manchester United at the Old Trafford, in the FA Cup fifth round last weekend.
Ahead of their trip to the Amex on Saturday, Bassey has charged his teammates to approach the game with the right intensity, as they hope to build up momentum after their impressive FA Cup win.
“You know how good Brighton are, there’s no easy game in this league.
They are a team with a lot of quality, so we are gonna have to make sure we are locked in for that one. We’ve had our days to celebrate, now it’s back to work and make sure we are focused on the game on Saturday”, Bassey said.
Marco Silva’s side are currently ninth on the English Premier League standings, and a victory on Saturday could reduce the gap between them and fourth-placed Manchester City, who are currently five points ahead of them.
