Former AC Milan midfielder Cristian Brocchi has recognized Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman as the most important player for Atalanta, ahead of their crucial clash against Juventus on Sunday.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year who has won the club’s player of the year for the past two seasons, has grown to become one of the best players in the world with his impressive performances.
The Nigerian forward has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in the league this season, only second to Italian striker Mateo Retegui in goals scored for La Dea.
“At the moment, Lookman is Atalanta’s difference maker,” Brocchi wrote for Serie A’s official website.
“He is fast, his final ball is good, and in 1-v-1s he can either finish himself or set up a teammate. He is a complete player, who breaks up the game. He could be decisive, maybe with a goal, but also with his movement and his set-up play for Retegui.”
Atalanta currently sit third on the standings, three points ahead of their weekend’s opponents and will look to the Lookman for pace and creativity as they hope to secure a first win over The Old Lady since 2021.
