Niger Tornadoes head coach Majin Mohammed has expressed disappointment with his side’s loss to title hopefuls Rivers United in the Nigerian Premier Football League.
The Lokoja-based side had hoped to end their poor league run which has seen them win just one in three prior games, but fell to another disappointing loss.
Obi Samson scored a late winner for Finidi George’s side in the 83rd minute, to condemn the Ikon Allah Boys to a third straight defeat in the league as they dropped to 12th on the standings.
“I think we lost it with a moment of concentration, we thought that we have gotten it all of a sudden I don’t know what got into the head of the players.
This is not the type of goal we should be conceding considering where we are coming from but that is football for you”, he said.
“We lost concentration at a critical moment, and it cost us the game, but nonetheless, we’ll regroup and focus on our next home match to see how we can get our three points.”
Niger Tornadoes will next be in action when they host Katsina United in a must-win encounter, as they look to end their poor run of form.
