Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has praised England striker Harry Kane for his maturity after the 31-year old starred in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League.
After scoring twice in the first leg to give the Bavarians a 3-0 advantage, the former Tottenham Hotspur forward opened the scoring with his 10th European goal of the season with a brilliant close range effort in the 52nd minute.
He turned provider moments later when he squared for Canada international Alphonso Davies to score Bayern’s second of the night.
“It helps when you have a top player who wants to run and fight for the team like a youth player. I played against him as an opponent and he has become better with age. He has a way to work towards his performances”, Kompany said after the match.
Kane who became the first Englishman to score 10 times in a single European cup season, has 21 goals already in the Bundesliga, as Bayern progressed to the quarterfinals of the competition where they will face Italian giants Inter Milan.
“I trust his consistency and how he works towards his game and with that quality you always get your moments”, he continued.
