Edo Queens FC have completed the signings of five new members ahead of the second half of the season.
In a bid to reinforce the squad power, the defending champions of the NEFL have secured the signings of five players including: Anjor Mary from Bayelsa Queens, Rebecca Adegbemile from Delta Queens, and three former Remo Stars Ladies FC players—Winifred Eyegboria, Vincent Precious, and Happiness Titus.
The new signings, who have all committed to a one-year deal, participated in their first training session at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Strengthening the squad was a necessity leading into the future according to Edo Queens’ General Manager, Rollanson Odeh. He also expressed gratitude to Governor Monday Okpebholo and the Edo State Sports Commission Chairman, Hon. Desmond Enabule, for their unwavering support towards the development of the club. “As WAFU-B Champions and NWFL defending champions, expectations are high. To maintain our dominance and secure another continental ticket, we had to reinforce key areas. The team is prepared and focused on retaining the trophy,” Odeh stated.
Head coach Moses Aduku echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the team is ready for the battle ahead. “Every game is a war, and we are prepared to fight. The addition of experienced players will complement the squad’s efforts as we push for another successful campaign.”
With the final phase of the NWFL Premiership approaching, Edo Queens are determined to defend their title and continue their dominance in Nigerian women’s football.
