Bayern Munich reveal stance on potential move for Liverpool’s Van Dijk

German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have reportedly dismissed claims that they are looking to sign Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk in the summer transfer window.

Van Dijk’s contract at Anfield is coming to an end, and despite his recent assertion that he has yet to decide on his future, speculation about his next move continues to grow, with Bayern emerging as a potential destination.

According to reports from Spain, Bayern have made a formal offer to the Dutchman and may have already convinced him to swap Merseyside for Munich once his Liverpool contract expires this summer.

However, renowned transfer specialist Florian Plettenberg has dismissed these claims as inaccurate. Bayern do not consider Van Dijk a target for the coming transfer window and there have been no concrete talks between the German club and the player.

Van Dijk, who is set to be a free agent by the end of the current campaign, has also been on the end of relentless speculation regarding a move to Paris Saint-Germain following a well publicized video of him having a conversation with the French club’s president after Liverpool’s Champions League elimination.

However, the Ligue 1 champions have poured cold water on such rumours; “I don’t understand why this video has caused such a huge controversy on social media,” PSG media director Pascal Ferry told 365 Scores.

“The conversation between Van Dijk and the club president, as well as the sporting director, was completely natural and spontaneous.

“Our president did not discuss any negotiations to sign the player, and everything rumoured in this regard is false. The discussion was friendly, and the president has the utmost respect for Van Dijk.”
